What we are about

The Turkey Leg Classic is an annual charity golf tournament held each November, operating under the GoodWorks Initiatives 501(c)(3) umbrella.

Our mission is simple: to make Christmas a little brighter for local families who could use a helping hand during the holiday season.

Each year, we work directly with selected families and ask parents to provide us with their children’s Christmas wish lists. With the funds raised through the Turkey Leg Classic and the generosity of our sponsors, we purchase the items on those lists—within reason—to help make sure each child has gifts waiting for them on Christmas morning.

But we don’t stop with presents. We also provide each family with a fully prepared Christmas dinner for the entire household, ready for pickup on Christmas Eve.

The Turkey Leg Classic is about more than a day of golf. It’s about bringing friends, businesses, and our community together to directly help families and give children a Christmas they’ll remember.

Every sponsorship, donation, and player who participates helps us put Christmas directly into the hands of a family who needs it.

Our Mission for the Turkey Leg Classic Golf Tournament is to provide an enjoyable event for community and friends to come together, in their love for the great game of golf, and in gratitude for the opportunity to bring joy, comfort and encouragement to families in need during the holiday season.

The efforts of the Turkey Leg Classic will make the season of giving a truly special time for not only those fortunate enough to receive, but those who are fortunate enough to be able to contribute the gift of their time, talent, and financial support, for which we are ever grateful.

Our commitment to providing for families in need extends beyond the holidays and throughout the year, as we work not only to ensure that every event is more successful than the last, but also toward the goal of never having to turn away anyone who comes to us in need, no matter the season.
